Connect Google Analytics

Send Smart QR scan events to a GA4 property.

Step 1

Connect the Scribeless workspace

Paste an API key for the Scribeless workspace that owns the Smart QR codes you want to track.

Create or copy an API key in Scribeless settings

Step 2

Add the GA4 Measurement ID

Use the web stream that receives the traffic from your QR code landing pages.

Where to get it

  1. Open Google Analytics and choose the right GA4 property.
  2. Go to Admin > Data streams, then select the web stream.
  3. Copy the Measurement ID. It starts with G-.

Step 3

Add a Measurement Protocol API secret

This is created inside the same GA4 web stream as the Measurement ID.

Where to get it

  1. Stay in the web stream you used for the Measurement ID.
  2. Open Measurement Protocol API secrets.
  3. Create a secret named Scribeless, or copy an existing secret for server-side events.

Step 4

Choose how scans appear in GA4

Keep the default event name unless your reports already expect another GA4 event name.

Data region

Choose European Union only if your analytics or privacy setup requires EU collection. Most users should choose Global.
